Healthy School Award

Healthy School Award

Brüggen School has met the criteria of the National Healthy Schools Programme and has been awarded National Healthy School Status from 1st Oct 09 and it is valid for 3 years. The House Captains received the Award and a Plaque on behalf of Brüggen School during assembly on Friday 26th February 2010.

Beauty and the Beast Reviews

 As part of their Bronze Arts Award some of the pupils from Year 6 went to watch Dracula Spectacular at Windsor School in December 2009 and the CATS performance of Beauty and the Beast at the Little Theatre at JHQ in January 2010.

Before Christmas we were collecting money at school for this very worthy cause and have so far managed to raise a fantastic total of €735. Many thanks to parents and staff who have kindly donated money, and special thanks to Mrs Cockcroft, mother of Sean Prüssmann, FS2 Seals, who raised €85. Our thoughts are with Jamie and his family at this difficult time. It certainly puts all my worries and moans into perspective. Di Edwards.

Naafi Christmas Decoration Competition

 Congratulations to the winners of the Naafi Christmas Decoration Competition. 1st Prizes went to Samiyah Johnson Y4, Amelia Harrison Y4, Erin Reveley Y1 and Connor Wheeler Y1. 2nd Prizes went to Francesca Stoker Y4, Megan Wilkinson Y3, Anna Wedge Y3 and Isobel Nowosielski Y5. 3rd Prizes went to Lucy Wedge Y1, Thomas Roberts Y1, Jack McMillan FS1 and Alex McAdam Y1. Can we say a big thank you to Mike Melia and his staff for his help and for providing the prizes. The decorations are now on display in the Naafi.

Inter-School Cross Country

Inter-School Cross Country

On Wednesday 18th November children from KS2 took part in an Inter-School Cross Country Competition held at Wildenrath Forest. Overall the Girls finished 2nd and the Boys finished 5th. In individual races Megan Heeney from Y5 finished 2nd and Lewis Bate-Jones from Y4 finished 3rd. Well done to you all.
