We are Y4 Meerkats

My name is Clare Beardwood and I teach Y4 Meerkats here at Bruggen School. I started my teaching career in 2000 in an inner city school in Birmingham before moving to Oxford School, Muenster.  I have been at Bruggen School since 2005. I have three children who are or have been at Bruggen School. During my time in teaching I have taught from FS2 to Year 6 and have enjoyed the individual challenges that come from working with different age groups.

In the classroom with me is Amanda Binns who helps the children during lessons and when they need to change reading books. The children will also be working with Mr Wright on Thursdays.

This year we will be studying some very exciting topics:

New Beginnings deals with new starts which is particularly important to us as many of us move regularly and have to start new schools.

Stone Age to Iron Age Britain -  a study of the changes to British society through these diverse historical periods.

Europe -  a look at the countries that make up this continent, including languages, cuisine, population and geographical features.

Here come the Invaders! -  a study of the impact of the Anglo Saxon and Viking invasions and how they changed British lives.

End of an Era!  -  a study of the local area and Javelin Barracks as a celebration and commemoration of the closure of the camp.
