Welcome to Y6 Wolves at Bruggen School

My name is Miss Tesseyman and I have just moved into Year 6 here at Bruggen School. I started my teaching career in Hull in 2001 and moved out to Germany in 2004. Before embarking on a career in teaching, I was in the army and was posted to BMH Munster and BMH Iserlohn so coming back to Germany was wonderful. I am really looking forward to this year which should be a lot of fun.

We are very lucky because we have Mrs Budding working with us every morning, helping the children with their work and keeping us all organised!

Throughout the year the children will be taught reading and maths by myself and Mr Caldwell. This will allow them to have really focused teaching in small groups. The children are also taught German on Thursday by Mrs Beardwood and the guitars and PE on Monday afternoon by Mr McGivern.

Please ensure that your child has a PE kit with them on Monday morning as they have a lesson in the afternoon. They can leave their kit in school all week and take it home on Friday. For the first half term of this year we will be going swimming to Roermond so the children will also need to bring in their swimming kit on Wednesdays.

Can you please sign your child’s Reading Diary every week to show that you have seen it. I will collect them in and sign them on Monday mornings.

This year we will be studying:

  • Ancient Greece
  • Early Islamic Civilization
  • The End Of An Era! - which is about Javelin Barracks and RAF Bruggen.

  • North America
  • Our Local Area

We will be using the eight points of a compass and investigating longitude and latitude.

  • Living things and their habitats
  • Animals including humans
  • Evolution and inheritance
  • Electricity
  • Light.
